The trip to Toubkal is a bit demanding and tiring, one should leave Marrakech early, and it is advisable to spend the night in Imlil (1720m) or Aremd. So as to be ready for a long Day Excursion towards Toubkal Refuge (4000m).this climb of 2500m obviously requires reasonable fitness, but is not difficult.
The first destination from Imlil is an uphill climb to Sidi Chamarouch, a Muslim shrine frequented by pilgrims, where we have a stop. Then we continue up to the Toubkal Refuge, with the highest peak in North Africa of Toubkal above us. Here we have our picnic lunch before returning to Imlil to go back to Marrakech in the early evening.
An alternative, if you have time, is a two day trek which includes the summit of Toubkal.
